Crafted from 9.6oz OLD JOE original denim, the fabric is woven with a custom nep yarn developed exclusively for this piece. The warp yarns incorporate shorter cotton fibers to express the natural, dry, and slightly bulky texture that defines authentic vintage denim. The weft yarns are a blend of American, Australian, and Brazilian cottons, chosen to achieve a stable hand feel. Through a unique singeing process, the fabric attains a subtle crispness while retaining softness.

The rope-dyeing process uses a deep, blackish indigo, giving the denim a rich and profound color tone. The fabric is finished only with a special sanforization (shrink-proofing) treatment, leaving the raw “kibata” texture and the natural surface fuzz intact. The result is a fabric that balances a substantial appearance and color depth with surprising lightness and comfort when worn — an authentic OLD JOE original denim, meticulously crafted down to the yarn itself.
