Freewheelers Longshoreman Worker Jacket
Inspired by work jackets of the 1920s–30s, this piece channels the rugged character and practical detailing of early American coverall jackets.
The jacket is crafted from a salt-and-pepper textured fabric often referred to as “beach cloth,” produced on a Russell knitting machine. The fabric features a black base with a pronounced striped appearance and is composed of 70% wool and 30% cotton. Developed exclusively by the brand, this original material emphasizes both texture and depth while maintaining the classic look associated with vintage beach cloth.
Design details include asymmetrical chest pockets with distinctive slanted openings, reinforced with bar-tack stitching for durability. In true vintage fashion, the chest pockets are set slightly lower on the body, while the waist pockets are positioned closer to the sides for practical use.
The jacket is finished with plain nut buttons, while the upper section of the waist pockets is reinforced internally with cotton moleskin for added strength. Herringbone-woven piping tape is used throughout the construction, selected specifically for its ability to age beautifully—gradually fading over time to develop richer character and texture with wear.
