Freewheelers “Jolly Rogers” U.S.N Utility Shirt

This model is based on a CPO shirt design, reinterpreted as a U.S. Navy utility shirt.
It is a custom piece inspired by the image of deck crew members aboard the USS CV-17 aircraft carrier “Bunker Hill” in the early 1940s, reflecting authentic naval workwear of the era.

Fabric:
The shirt is made from the brand’s original cotton karsey (twill) fabric, a densely woven, heavyweight cotton textile that has the appearance of wool. Moderately thick, uneven yarns are tightly twisted and woven at high density, creating a pronounced twill structure. A singeing process on the surface enhances the twill lines and brings out a subtle sheen.
The fabric is tough, weighty, and substantial, and with continued wear, it develops vintage-like fading and natural wear marks.

Design details:
It features a longer collar, slightly angled chest pockets, and an additional button at the bottom of the front placket to prevent the hem from flaring. Although named a shirt, the heavy fabric allows it to be worn comfortably as a shirt jacket.
A U.S.N. stencil is applied above the left chest pocket, while the back is printed with a skull and Jolly Rogers motifusing a dye-penetrating print technique.

The sleeves are equipped with two cuff buttons, and an additional button is placed at the center of the extended sleeve placket. The silhouette is clean and straightforward, with a shorter body length suited to modern styling.
All buttons are classic military-style urea buttons, and the garment comes pre-washed.
