Old Joe - Patina Horsehide Roper Jacket
A new Western-style jean jacket crafted from an original horsehide roughout leather developed using a proprietary tanning and finishing process. Inspired by mid-century archival garments, the design has been carefully reinterpreted with a modern sensibility while preserving its vintage character.
The rugged texture of the roughout leather is complemented by a contrasting leather accent on the collar, creating a striking visual balance. Skilled craftsmen meticulously apply edge finishing to every raw-cut section, elevating the heritage-inspired design with a refined and luxurious touch.
An original aging treatment has been applied to the leather, giving the jacket the rich character and depth of a treasured garment that has been worn and cared for over many years.
The roughout leather is produced from the flesh side of horsehide and intentionally left with its natural texture rather than being uniformly brushed or refined. The result is a substantial, densely structured material reminiscent of pre-war leather products, offering exceptional character and quality. With continued wear, the leather will develop deeper creases and a richer patina, further enhancing its individuality.
The lining is made from a high-density 40/1 linen featuring a subtle herringbone weave. A combination of fine grain texture, natural washer finish, and moderate firmness creates a beautifully balanced hand feel. The uneven dyeing and textured surface generate rich tonal variations and depth, while the delicate herringbone pattern adds visual interest and vintage charm. The result is a highly expressive fabric that perfectly complements the rugged elegance of the leather exterior.
