Butcher Products Rayon Aranami Shirts

The Butcher Products Aranami Shirt is crafted from 100% rayon, featuring a distinctive wave pattern that gives the shirt a relaxed yet refined character. Designed with an open collar, a cropped body length, and genuine natural mother-of-pearl buttons, it is available in both long-sleeve and short-sleeve versions, in pale blue and pale green.
Each 1.5 cm diameter mother-of-pearl button is completely natural and unique. No two buttons are exactly alike, and their surfaces may feature subtle variations in shape, texture, and slight unevenness. The buttons are finished in smoke and ecru tones rather than bright white, highlighting the organic character and understated beauty of the material. These natural variations are not imperfections, but an inherent part of the beauty of genuine mother-of-pearl.
The fluid drape and subtle sheen of rayon complement the wave motif, making the shirt equally suited to casual everyday wear or a more considered vintage-inspired look.
A Brief History of Rayon
Rayon has a fascinating history as one of the earliest man-made textile fibers. Developed from regenerated cellulose in the late 19th century, it was initially marketed as “artificial silk” because of its smooth hand, lustrous appearance, and ability to drape beautifully. The viscose process was patented in the 1890s, and the material became commercially important in the early 20th century. By 1924, the name “rayon” had become established in the United States, and its affordability helped bring silk-like fabrics to a much wider audience. Today, rayon remains valued for its soft touch, cool feel, and elegant drape — qualities that make it particularly well suited.
