1930-1940s Woodsman Coat

Color: Yarn-Dyed Black
Made in Japan

Introducing the "Timber Cruiser" Coat from Freewheelers' Great Lakes GMT. MFG. CO. line, a vintage-inspired outerwear piece reminiscent of the cruiser and logger coats worn by woodsmen in the 1930s and 1940s.

Crafted from a 13oz yarn-dyed cotton duck fabric, this coat has a rugged, textured feel with a distinctive uneven surface. It’s dyed with sulfur, allowing it to develop a unique fade and patina over time, adding character with wear.

Unlike traditional cruiser jackets that have double-layered shoulders and sleeves sewn in, Freewheelers' design allows for a detachable feature, with these areas attached by buttons for added versatility.

The hood features a brimmed design, and the cape has a dual-layer closure with both buttons and a zippered finish. The slider on the zipper is equipped with a fan-shaped talon for a vintage touch and durability.

The front of the coat boasts multiple pocket types, including double pockets, ball-chain pockets, and flap pockets, along with a Union label inside the chest pocket. The back includes a large patch pocket with a flap at the waist, and each side features a zippered map pocket.

This coat’s attention to detail is impressive, with its strategic pocket placements and thoughtful design. The fabric is weighty, adding substantial feel and durability to this cotton piece. Washing it will enhance its texture and appearance, making it a true Freewheelers classic. If you're after an ultimate cruiser coat with timeless style and functionality, this piece is a must-try.
