Old Joe Horsehide Vehicle Coat

Old Joe's signature material, Patina Horsehide, is a vegetable-tanned horse leather that captures the beauty of natural aging through a meticulously developed hand-finishing process. Each piece is treated individually, following the original recipe perfected through countless trials to achieve an authentic, timeworn character.

Named the Vehicle Coat, this piece draws inspiration from European workwear archives. The sharply angled welt pockets on the mid-length front, the precisely crafted double-welt openings, and the elegantly curved line that flows seamlessly from the collar to the lapel all reflect the refined design sensibility of the era. Details such as the narrow waist belt embody the balance between functional workwear construction and timeless elegance.

The horsehide features a rough, grainy texture and natural color variations, giving it a rugged, wild finish. Unlike softer horsehides, this leather intentionally retains its natural unevenness, ensuring that no two jackets are exactly alike—each one is a singular expression of character and craftsmanship.

The lining is a wool-linen herringbone fabric woven from a blend of raw linen and wool. With a tightly woven structure and a brushed finish, it offers both firmness and a soft, comfortable touch—a perfect complement to the robust exterior.
