Old Joe - Patina Deerskin Thurlow Jacket
This piece, crafted from Old Joe’s signature patina leather, is a showcase of their artisanal approach. The patina finish, which expresses natural aging and character, is applied to each jacket by hand using an original recipe developed through countless trials and errors.
The design takes inspiration from custom-made leather jackets from the pre-WW2 era. The intricate sewing techniques and unique details characteristic of bespoke garments from that time are visually striking. One notable feature is the Italian collar, which curves beautifully from the inside facing of the body—a classically elegant and refined detail.
The leather is made from premium chrome-tanned deerskin, known for its soft, rich texture and also used in high-quality gloves. The patina aging process gives it a supple feel and a light, sophisticated presence. As the jacket is worn over time, it will develop even more character and depth.
The deerskin, sourced from New Zealand hides, is chrome-tanned and has a fine grain and pleasant feel. The lining is made from British wool tweed. British wool contains less oil and has thicker fibers, resulting in a crisp, dry touch. It also provides excellent insulation.
