From Freewheelers’ UNION SPECIAL OVERALLS line comes the Burner Mechanic Shirt, inspired by American work shirts from the 1930s–1940s.

This piece recreates the rugged, functional design language of early industrial workwear.

Key details include a short chin strap at the collar, and dual chest flap pockets of equal size—however, the left pocket features a double-layer construction for added utility. Compared to the flannel version released in the 2025 AW collection, these chest pockets have been slightly reduced in size for a more period-accurate silhouette.

Side gussets provide ease of movement, while a Union label is placed on the underside of the front placket. The buttons are iron hardware with a rust-finished treatment, reinforcing the vintage workwear aesthetic.

The shirt is constructed from 8.5 oz indigo denim, featuring a naturally uneven texture that enhances vertical fading over time, allowing for strong and authentic denim aging.
