Old Joe Hampton Chore Jacket
A modern-fitting chore jacket characterized by its generously relaxed, coat-like A-line silhouette and subtly voluminous sleeves that round out at the elbows. Classic workwear details from the 1930s are thoughtfully incorporated, including wide cuffs, a chin strap, and the distinctive “gacha pockets” that lend the piece a timeless, utilitarian charm.Made from a 10.7oz denim woven with heavily slubbed Zimbabwe cotton for the warp and naturally irregular slub yarns for the weft. The fabric has a slightly denser warp count and is woven in a 2/1 right-hand twill—less pronounced than the typical 3/1 twill—resulting in a smoother, flatter appearance. Despite this, the combination of slubbed warp and textured weft gives the denim a nuanced surface with just the right amount of character.
The warp yarn is rope-dyed in pure indigo, achieving a deep, uniquely Japanese indigo blue. Over time, the fabric will age beautifully, developing a rich patina that tells the story of wear.
