Two New Alden Belts: Natural CXL & Dark Chocolate Suede
The belt is the most overlooked part of a good outfit. It sits between the shoes and the shirt, and when it is wrong, the whole middle of the outfit feels off. When it is right, you never think about it at all. These two new belts from Alden are the right kind: simple, well-made, and cut from the same leathers Alden is known for in its shoes.
Alden has been making shoes in Middleborough, Massachusetts since 1884. Its belts carry the same approach: honest materials, clean construction, nothing flashy. That matters because a belt should speak the same leather language as the shoes it sits above, and these two do exactly that.
Natural CXL Belt — $210

The Natural CXL is cut from Horween Chromexcel, the combination-tanned pull-up leather that Alden's natural CXL shoes are famous for. It starts a warm honey tan and darkens with sun and wear into a deeper, richer patina. No two belts age the same way, and that is the point. Scuffs and marks blend back into the leather instead of sitting on top of it.
The details stay quiet: tonal stitching, a single keeper, and a brushed silver-tone rectangular buckle. It pairs naturally with natural CXL footwear, and with denim and khaki the way a good tan belt should.

Dark Chocolate Suede Belt — $210

The Dark Chocolate Suede is the softer option. The nap is fine and even, the color a deep brown that reads almost black in low light. Suede adds texture where smooth leather cannot, which makes this the belt to reach for with dark brown suede shoes, grey flannel trousers, or denim on a cold day.
It shares the same clean construction — tonal stitching, a single keeper — with a polished silver-tone buckle that picks up the light against the matte nap.

Both belts are available in sizes 32–40. Your usual trouser waist size is the right starting point.
