Freewheelers Winter Aviators Jacket
Introducing the Winter Aviators Jacket from LEATHER TOGS, a line by Freewheelers that honors the heritage of custom-made jackets for pilots and motorcyclists. This jacket is inspired by flying jackets from the early 1930s.
LEATHER TOGS has a long tradition of making bespoke jackets for aviation and motorcycle enthusiasts. Freewheelers has taken the original designs of LEATHER TOGS and recreated them, incorporating unique new perspectives to offer a one-of-a-kind product range.
This jacket is based on the brand’s Winter Aviator Vest, but it has been completely reworked into a jacket with several significant changes. It’s not just the addition of sleeves — the pocket design, sizing, and intricate details are all distinct from the vest.
The jacket is made from an original, custom-developed Jungle Cloth, a very thick, durable fabric that is coated with paraffin for water resistance. The lining is made from 100% alpaca pile, providing a dense yet soft texture. Between the outer shell and the lining, flannel*is inserted, creating a 3-layer structure that offers extra warmth and insulation.
The jacket features a stand-up collar with a concealed strapfor adjustment.
The front can be secured with both buttons and a zipper. The buttons are LEATHER TOGS-branded nut buttons, and the zipper is a WHIZZER brand zipper with a fan-shaped tooth design and a U-shaped stopper. It’s also reinforced with eyelets.
A D-shaped patch pocket with a HOOKLESS zipper.
The waist pockets are flap pockets with center pleats for added volume and depth.
The jacket features a belted hem and adjustable straps on each side for a customizable fit.
The sleeves are designed with a zolded cuff, adding a unique touch to the overall aesthetic.
The back features a large pocket with dual zippers on each side. Although the back is split by seams, the pocket itself is a single compartment accessible from both sides.
There’s an inner pocket inside the front placket, adding functionality and storage space.
This jacket exudes a sense of weight and durability, making it an excellent companion for colder seasons.
